Pressable Ceramics

Many different types of pressable ceramic systems have been available for years.  Broadway Dental was one of the first dental laboratories to get on board with Ivoclar's Empress material approximately 15 years ago.  The evolution of materials science has led to a decrease in their use lately.  However, they still are, in many experts opinions, one of the most esthetic restorations available.

We are currently using GC Initial Pressable systems.

GC Initial

A leucite glass reinforced ceramic that can be used with either the staining or layering technique.  GC Initial Pressable ingots are available in several different opacity levels ranging from 30-85%.  The higher opacity ingots are useful in blocking out discolored dentin such as tetracycline stained teeth.  GC Initial restorations must be seated with the adhesive cementation technique.

All Pressable Ceramic restorations are returned to the doctor's office acid etched.
